Half day on friday?! Awesome! Oh I have to stay... damnit

So basically the current President declared today a half day so the school is essentially closed down, however I am still here as I have tons of work that needs to be done. I am going to use this time to my advantage, no ppl = no help calls= more work done. Of course im still going to leave a little early, i mean it IS the friday before the long weekend.

Another one of the I.T. members has left, we are dropping like flies around here. I have a feeling that this coming year will be crazier than the previous one. I didnt even think I would make it through last year, makes me a bit nervous. Ah well im a seasoned pro at this point, bring it on!

Have a great weekend, have lots of fun and be responsible people dont drink and drive. Family and friends want to hear about your weekend when you get back.

And Kelly, chin up you are on to bigger and better things. The door never closes without a window being opened.

The College is now a shelter.

So some out of control forest fires currently are running wild in northern Saskatchewan (Canada). They have evacuated a few towns and flown them to a few cities to stay should the fires reach their towns. Today approx. 300 people arrived at the college along with various red cross and saskatchewan government types. Oh and the press too, but what else is new? They didnt really get far anyways, the last thing anyone needs after evacuating their town is to have a camera in their face.

So today cots and bedding were set up, a lecture theater was converted into a movie house for the kids and yours truly was setting up some computer stations to allow them to send out emails and such.

I cant imagine what it would be like to leave everything you have and hope that it all doesnt get destroyed. Not quite sure how I would deal with that but I guess you learn to deal. It is really busy at the school this weekend too, the local highschool grad is taking place there along with the Canada Day celebrations. Should be a zoo, and I will definately be keeping my distance.

World of Warcraft (Read Crack)

Spent most of the weekend playing world of warcraft, hard to believe a game can pull you in so much. At least I did the usual chores beforehand, so i am good that way.

The game should come with a warning label.

So tired, but the gratitude is appreciated.

Its been a long week, lots of things to do at work and not enough time or energy to do it. Heres hoping for a raise.

Im filling in part time as a high speed modem installer for a phone company. Pretty easy gig, i go and plug the modem into the computer and setup the persons email. Im sure that the guy im working for makes like $100/call on this. I feel guilty really, i mean ripping somebody off so bad. But hey money is money.

Yesterday the girl watching the store called, the main computer wouldnt turn on. So after leaving my regular job I went to the store to take a look. Minor problem with the power switch, fixed it and went on my way. Today she came by with a thank you card and a meat tray for me and my bro. Nothing big but the gesture was greatly appreciated, its been awhile since somebody thanked me for my help. Ive been in a good mood ever since, so ppl go do a good deed when you can. A simple thanks is always appreciated, thanks Nicole you rock!

i Heart the DS

So great, was playing the new super mario brothers and a bunch of other games last night very fun stuff. Worth the cash totally, especially now I can play the games that were aquired. hehe Big props go out to PND the flash master. Couldnt have done it without ya buddy.

Ever have that feeling that there is too much to do and not even enough time to do it. You know it, your boss know it, and yet the deadlines dont change. Good thing im a miracle worker, i work miracles baby!

On a side note Big Brother is starting up again and it is one of those All Star shows, should be interesting. Not much on TV anyways, House rocks hard tho.

The Hills Have Eyes

Really good movie. As far as the gore factor goes, this is much as I have seen from a Hollywood movie. If you are looking for a creepy movie or a something scary to watch then give this one a rent. Just be sure to watch it in the dark with the sound turned up, the way horror movies are meant to be watched.

For me it was more disturbing than wet my pants scary, needless to say i wont be travelling through the desert anytime soon. Especially down some 'shortcut' the creepy gas station guy suggests. Stick to the highways people!

In other news I have a new 19" LCD monitor and its the tits. I now have 3 monitors including this one, not sure what I will do with the big 17" and 20" CRTs.

In other other news I am planning to hack my ds today, to play my backup games only of course...

Oilers lose...well damn

I was hoping for the big W but it wasnt meant to be I guess. It was an alright game, I dont think the oilers really played as hard as they could, they hit the gas halfway through the 3rd but it was too late. For the Oilers to make it that far is really impressive, rewind a few months and nobody would have seen it as a possibility. Same goes for Carolina I suppose.

Its raining here again, guess I will toil away in the computer labs and listen to some mp3s. Anyone else craving some coffee and timbits?

What have I done.....

Holy crap a blog of my very own. Scary thought, everyone seems to have one so I decided to ask for room on the bandwagon and claim a seat for myself. Its either that or just something to do out of sheer boredom and escape the monotony of work in the computer tech field.

You dont have to be crazy to work here but it helps.
