Farewell, adieu, uh... I forget the rest of the tune

Tonight was my official farewell party from the I.T. at my previous job, awesome friends, food and fun all around. I definately miss hanging out and harassing those guys, over the years they went from strangers to friends to family. I always know that where ever I might end up in this crazy life that I will always have the memories of the good ole days.

Plus I know their emails and where they work, so it isnt hard to get ahold of them to harass and bug haha. Just kidding...kind of XD

Anyways they gave me a gift certificate to my LHS (Local Hobby Shop) so I will have to go on a spending spree which will rock all sorts of socks off. Luckily after some tuning tonight my truck is ready to go, I just had to adjust a few connections and everything is A-OK.

As for the new job today was spent in another orientation class, at least it was interesting and the people were fun. Lots of jokes flying around so it definately helped to pass the time that much faster. Unfortunately I got confused as to when I was supposed to attend the course, and when I got there I found out that I was scheduled to go on Wednesday. So we were 1 person over and I guess they will be 1 person short on Wednesday(I assume thats right, I always sucked at math).

All in all it was a long day but a good one, who can ask for anything more than that right?

Winter is approaching, i can feeeeel it!

So today there was frost on my windshield and it was depressing. Winter is coming up and its gonna be a mean one, thats what im hearing anyways. Heres hoping not, either way i have planned my winter activity to pass time. I will probably go to the new gym that opened up at the local arena with a few ppl and maybe my bro if hes interested. I also will prob pick up my guitar and keep trying to learn to play. Lots of time and now there is enough room and privacy for me to do it.
Until then im trying to enjoy the days of snow and ice free existance. Maybe next winter I will have some coinage saved up to take a trip to mexico or something in jan. or feb. That would be pretty cool, I need to do some travelling anyways.

What the HELL was that all about?!

So yesterday morning I woke up feeling great and ready to head to dewbury. It was another dark, cold, rainy morning but this much was expected. A normal morning went by but by 10 am I had a killer headache, nothing seemed out of the ordinary to I just did my best to ignore it and moved on. Around 11am it started, I started getting chilled with goosebumps appearing on my arm. It was kind of chilly in the building so I didnt think much of it but I slowly started to feel worse. Then i started to shiver. By about 1130am it felt like I was going to throw up and eventhough I was now wearing my fall jacket I couldnt warm up. I knew I was sick so I asked to go home, as I left the building for the block or so walk to my car I began to shiver almost violently as soon as the cold air hit me. I managed to make it to my car with my teeth chattering and my back and abs hurting from the shivers. I immediately went home trying to stay focused on the road, i got in the house and immediately jumped into the shower to warm up.

It seemed to work, I got out and took my temp and it was 103 degrees! Holy crap! So i popped a couple tylenol and laid down for a nap. Through a constant amount of tylenol and rest with a cold shower in between I was able to get it somewhat under control. I slept the rest of the day and night, walking up this morning around 10am feeling better but still feverish. I dont know what the hell happened or where it came from. I can only assume that it is some freak flu going around, at least thats what I hope. Things are better now and my temp is almost back to normal, but definately not the weekend I had planned. Especially since I was going to meet a friend for dinner tonight and being unable to go I tried to get ahold of him. I left a message on his cell and emailed too, unfortunately he didnt get them and called from the restaurant asking where I was. I feel bad and hope he didnt cancel anything, guess we will have to reschedule.

Off to Dewbury

So tomorrow I will be going to the town of Dewbury to do some work with a person from my new job. Shouldnt take too long, ill be more of a tag along anyways but it will be something to experience. Im just trying to absorb all that I can and get used to everything. So far so good.

More cold and rain today, looks like more over the weekend which sucks donkey. I know that it is fall now and this is how it goes, doesnt mean that I will accept it though. I could got the whole winter without wanting any snow or cold temps. Maybe someday I will move to a warmer climate with no snow. One can dream anyways.

Holy Flipping truck Batman! oh and the accident, damn poor car :(

So I took the t-maxx out for a rip again tonight, a little more tuning and a little more zip. Needless to say when I had the throttle wide open and was coming over a hill I was usually doing a wheelie on the way down. Hit a few dips that I can only assume were gopher holes, these would launch me into the air and on a few occasions I would land bumper first and my truck would be thrown into an end over end flip. Well okay like a dozen flips lol, man I was so sure something would break after that but nothing! it landed on its wheels and I kept ripping lol.

My new parts arrived today too, some aluminum skid plates and a new body (hummer h2). Im planning a candy red to black fade paint job for the hummer, should be sweet. I still have my dual exhaust coming in as well as a couple more aluminum parts hehe.

So today I was returning to work from lunch break, as I went into the left turning lane about a car length in I guess somebody was sick of waiting in rush hour traffic and turned left into me. So im driving and suddenly hear this noise and feel a shake. I hit the brakes and look back seeing this silver kia rio with its driver side peeking out from the traffic. My car seems to be moving fine and does the kia, so I gesture to follow me. We pull into the city hall parking lot to see what happened. I asked if they were alright and they asked me the same. Everyone was okay which is most important, but near the end of my passenger door all the way to the bumper is scraped and dented. This includes my rim on the rear of right of my car :( Her drivers light corner is dented and marked up. Lucky she only grazed me.

So I call the cops and we went to the station to make our statements. She was moving from a different province and was on probation here. So I think that means her chance of getting a license for the next year or so is gone. They wanted me to say that her mom (who was in the passenger seat, did I mention that? no. Well she was) was driving and not the daughter for insurance reasons. I said I would rather not, plus her insurance should cover the daughter. Of course not thinking about the fact the daughter would prob lose her license. Of course I still wouldnt have said that. Last thing I need to do is lie on the report and get busted, ya I dont think so.

So I went to the insurance company im under and filed the report with them re-stating the above stuff. The inspection is next thursday, so that was my afternoon. Hopefully the rest will go smoothly and they dont try to change things or something. That would really suck, she was on probation, hit me, and thats it really. It sucks for sure, but it happens.

First week complete/Thats how it should be ran!

So the first week at the new job is complete and things seem to be going well. Im getting adjusted to the new place, where things are, and the software that is being used there. The people all seem really nice too so I know that I will be able to adjust just fine.

Yesterday Steve and I took our R/C trucks out to a nearby park. There is this big hill at the one end that is used for a tube run in the winter time, so we went up there and fired up the trucks. It was a perfect view of the park so we could really let the trucks run. Man that was fun, plenty of jumps and such to fly off of, plus there were 2 ball diamonds so naturally I had to go and spin some donuts on them. It was funny as hell seeing all the dirt flying in the air, I will have to get some pics next time.

No crashes but some flips, actually Steve's truck managed to flip while going down the hill so basically it went end over end like 9 times down it lol. If you have the time (and cash) I highly recommend getting one of these R/C trucks they are such a blast to drive!

Traxxas Webpage

I purchased the T-Maxx 3.3 from a local hobby shop, I actually have ordered a new body that I will be painting up as well as a new exhaust system and some aluminum pieces for the bumper and skid plates. They seem to take the most damage, of course when I hit a curb at around 15km/h that is expected. But only the front skid plate cracked, a $5 fix. With my aluminum ones there should be no more of that hehe.

New Job Day 3 over and the weekend is coming

So far so good, day three of the new job is done. Its tough starting new, not knowing anyone or where your place is. Im trying to catch up on the software and networking setup that is in place there, its a lot to take in but I will get it under control sooner or later.

Man the days are getting short, by 8pm its dark out and so my time to do things after work is getting shorter and shorter. I havent been able to drive my truck (remote controlled) for the last couple days, but I am hoping that tomorrow and the weekend will give me the time needed. Not to mention that im soo tired, its been a long week...scratch that, its been a long summer.

The people at the job seem really nice and that makes a big difference, and its rare for such a large organization. Plus it helps that 2 of the staff members I already know, so that adds a bit of a comfort factor too.

But im going to end this one early, im starting to doze off at the keyboard.
