Thats crap, a pile of it.

Nice work Microsoft, nice job on messing with your customer base. I read an article about how Microsoft is now going to be releasing a “Elite” xbox 360 which will be jet black, have a 120GB Hard drive and an HDMI out on it. Now the new harddrive will be purchasable of course however that is all. Now as somebody who is looking at getting a new hdtv and wants the HDMI port this pisses me off just slightly. When asked about the fact that there will be angry customers MS basically responded with “That’s the price for being an early adopter.”. So releasing a new console nearly 1 and ½ years into the cycle is okay since up to that point in time they were “early adopters” of the console….thats bullshit and they KNOW it. Are they retarded thinking that people will buy a second Xbox? If anything it will make the customers more leery about buying it. I mean whose to say in another year there is another upgraded console to purchase? And who is to say with all the initial problems with the consoles at launch wont begin to resurface with the new “Elite” console?

All I know is that if there is no adapter for HDMI released for us current 360 owners, I am sure that there will be a lot of upset people. Not just yours truly.

On another note the evaluation modification on the wii was a success and life is goooood.

Foiled by the triwing screws!!

Ugh, so close. Im...upgrading my wii and i cant figure out how to get those stupid tri-wing screws off. I was able to get some with a smaller flathead screwdriver but there are 2 that will not cooperate. So i ordered the screwdriver...ah well. Just more time to wait, and I hate waiting.

Speaking of things that annoy me, I am sick of all the passwords I have to remember. From work to my personal life every damn thing has a password or keycode I have to remember. Of course 3 wrong ones and im screwed, maybe it should go to 5 and I might have a better chance at remember which exact code am I needing to use...

Yay soldering 101

So I have been practising my soldering lately, I have some...electronics I need to attach to some...other electronics and so have decided to go the do-it-yourself route. Armed with my trusty soldering iron, wire and solder I am getting ready for the real thing. Been practising soldering wire onto old pieces of circuit board to get an idea of what to do.

I mean its simple in itself and Im getting better (never soldered before this), but I want to be sure that I do a good job so I dont wreck the equipment. It is the price of the stuff that concerns me. I dont want to have to buy new things if something goes wrong.

You're gonna break the game you're so good!

I picked up dance dance revolution for the xbox 360, my first time playing. Im starting to get the hang of it and its pretty fun. For those of you who have no idea what this is, its a game where arrows move up the screen and as they do you have to step on the corresponding direction on the dance mat. Pretty cool stuff, i played for like 3 hours tonight haha.

Also since the snow is melting a small river formed in front of my house, however it was carved through some packed snow and this gap was enough for my tire to fit in perfectly. Ya I got stuck, but after work my brother and I shoveled that crap off the street. All is well again, what a tiring day.

New Vid!

Here is the new vid made by my little bro, hilarious stuff. Check it out peoples.

Home again

Its an odd feeling when I return to the town where I grew up, odd in the way that nothing changes. I mean kids grow up and the old people pass on, but the town itself seems to be the same.

When i get into town i make the "lap" which is the route around town I used to drive all the time when I got my license and would listen to my music just driving. All in all it takes like 5 mins to do but its more for memory sake I think.

There is just something about this place though that I really like. Maybe its the peace and quiet, everything just seems simpler here. I am away from the daily stresses and aggrivations, I can just leave them behind and come here and feel completely relaxed.

Its nice to come home.

Not Again!

Tax time means 2 things, I am reminded of how much the government takes away from me and that if Im lucky I might be able to get some of it back again. Of course getting anything back is better than having to pay more, so that is one way to look at it. I will be attempting to efile my taxes tonight, although word on the news is that the internet filing is not available due to some “hardware glitch”. Now Im not one to point fingers, just the coincidental time frame of these problems and the upcoming daylight savings time change are pretty close.

Anyways, heres hoping for a nice juicy tax return!

Update ! Read all about it!

Wow, long time no entry. There has been a lot going on and I have been very busy, so I will do a quick update /rundown on what has been going on. So The Chinese new year was a blast, the restaurant was packed with about 500 people in total. It was a full 10 course meal, each course would be brought to the table on a giant platter and everyone took what they wanted. The next dish would come out a few minutes later and this process continued with the time between each dish reaching around 10 mins. During the first half there were many demonstrations from the dojo with katas, weapons, and various other martial arts manuevers. Very cool to watch, and the students ages ranged from I think 7 to 70. The old man might not have looked like a skilled warrior, but he had the moves down albeit a little slower than the rest.

The food kept coming and by the time the 10th course came I was ready to burst, along with everyone else. The dishes themselves were all traditional, and you ate out of a small bowl with chopsticks although the standard utensils were also available to be used. I tried to use the sticks as much as possible, I caught on pretty fast. The crab ball was probably my least favourite, just a lot of crab meat and it was a bit chewy.

So after around 5 hours of eating we were done and ready to go back to the hotel to crash. We did some shopping the next day and went to Ikea, I have never been there so that was quite the experience. A lot of things in that place, it almost felt like a tour the way everyone was going the same way around the store. I ended up picking up some movies and a game on the shopping trip which was topped with a trip to the West Ed mall. Man what a nuthouse, Its nice to go there in short bursts, but it was really busy and I am not one for packed public places.

The hotel was pretty nice actually, I mean it was your basic room but a nice big bed and lots of space to unwind. All in all the trip was excellent and I will probably be doing the same once again.

Since then its been a blur of work and video games, ive been trying to wrap up a few loose ends on some games I have. I liked to finish some more off before I get new ones. With the rush of games sometimes I move on before I have finished the last one, that and Guitar Hero has been eating up some of my free time as of late. Its just so fun to rock out as if you are playing the guitar hehe.
