Yay soldering 101
So I have been practising my soldering lately, I have some...electronics I need to attach to some...other electronics and so have decided to go the do-it-yourself route. Armed with my trusty soldering iron, wire and solder I am getting ready for the real thing. Been practising soldering wire onto old pieces of circuit board to get an idea of what to do.
I mean its simple in itself and Im getting better (never soldered before this), but I want to be sure that I do a good job so I dont wreck the equipment. It is the price of the stuff that concerns me. I dont want to have to buy new things if something goes wrong.

how to tin your wire. I usually leave a tiny little ball of solder on the wire so I can attach that to the board. Those circuits are so small that I don't like to heat the board, I'd rather melt the solder onto the board. Make sure you let your iron heat up all the way too, 3 - 5 minutes.
